George and Tabitha

At Eleighwater House, the warm and welcoming atmosphere begins with its dedicated owners, George and Tabitha Twidale. Their shared commitment to compassionate, personalised care has helped shape the home into a truly special place for residents and their families.

Tabitha is the registered manager of Eleighwater and brings more than 30 years of experience in the care industry. She holds qualifications in dementia awareness, end-of-life care, diabetes awareness, and a Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health and Social Care. With her extensive knowledge and hands-on approach, Tabitha works closely with the team every day to ensure residents receive the highest standard of care while maintaining dignity, independence, and comfort.

George works alongside Tabitha in the day-to-day running of the home and plays an important role in creating the homely atmosphere that residents enjoy. Known for his cooking, George prepares many of the meals at the home and is particularly attentive to residents’ dietary needs and preferences.

Together, George and Tabitha have lived at Eleighwater House for many years and have created a family-run care home where residents are treated as part of the family. Their grandchildren visit the home regularly and love spending time with the residents.

Outside of their work, George and Tabitha enjoy spending time outdoors with their horses and walking with their dog, Wilf. Music is another shared passion; George plays the banjo, while Tabitha plays the bass guitar, and they both belong to a ukulele band. They regularly bring music into the home through informal sessions and gatherings for residents.

Through their dedication, experience, and genuine care for people, George and Tabitha have created a supportive environment where residents can feel safe, valued, and truly at home.

  • The standard of care my mum receives has been great for the 19 months that she has been there, and she has always been treated as a human rather than just a number. The home puts on entertainment for residents, and the food is home-cooked to a great standard. All in all, I would say it is more like a home away from home than a residential home.

  • It was an extremely difficult decision to place my dear aunt in a residential home. I am overwhelmed by how so very happy she is (a first in many years). I cannot compliment Eleighwater House enough. The staff and management are exemplary - they are kind, respectful and professional. I cannot thank them enough for all they are doing for my aunt.

  • A special friend is being looked after by Eleighwater. She suffers from Parkinson's Disease and needs assistance every time she moves. The staff cope with this so cheerfully and patiently. When I visit, my friend will be in her comfortable armchair by the window, looking out on a flower bed, bird feeders, and woodland for a backdrop. She loves life there. Each time I visit she will say "I can't believe how lucky I am".
